Little Miami River Area

Hello everyone, I am very new here and very new to gardening.
My husband and I have been trying to garden, both flowers and vegetables, for the past four years. The first year we did extremely well with cucumbers and tomato plants, however it has gone down hill from there!
We are really hoping to have better success this coming year.
Anyone have any advice?

If you've been planting your cukes and tomatoes in the same spots each year, it's probably time to rotate your crops and amend your soil. The same types of plants in the same places in the garden every year tend to drain the soil of the nutrients they like as well as contribute to the proliferation of any crop-specific disease taking up residence in the soil.

Sorry I am just now getting back to this! Chaos around here.
We actually have rotated the plants every year, but put them back in the first year's spot this past season.
We had issues with everything we planted. Mainly things flowered but never went past that stage.
I am DETERMINED to have success this coming 2015 season! If anyone has any helpful info please let's know.
