I bought a Yucca about 4 years ago. It comes back every spring looking somewhat pathetic but quickly perks up once it gets warmer. The only thing I do to it is pick off the outer leaves when they dry up. Mine had several babys and I found out that the parent plant dies after flowering, sends up several babys and they will flower in another 2-5 years. Hope this helps. Marg

If the plant dies after flowering, then it's probably an agave not a yucca.

dln949, it could be too much moisture or, due to snow, not enough sun -- they may green up over time though and I'm sure will be fine overall. We've had agaves and yuccas frost-bit, even here in Phoenix, and they do come back nicely. Make sure the base of the plant gets good ventilation, i.e. isn't moist and moldy from the dead leaves.
