Thanks Helen. That is the way we go to Arkansas from my house and I go every other week, so I will have to check that out. I just went by there on Monday, so hope they still have them in a couple of weeks.

Helen, I'm glad you found them up there. They weren't in the first batch of pickle mixes our local Wal-mart put out on the shelves, but they were in the next batch put out a week or so later.

I've already bought 10 packages of the Zesty B&B pickle mixes. I'll keep buying one or two a week until I have enough. I'm never sure how many "enough" is because I use them not only to make spicy Bread and Butter pickles, but also to make candied jalapenos.

I think that last summer I made approximately 200 pints of Zesty Bread-and-Butter pickles and maybe 60 or 70 pints of candied jalapenos. We have shockingly few jars left---one jar of candied jalapenos and about a dozen of pickles. We give away tons of them as Christmas gifts.

Carol, They continually put out fresh stock here, so sometimes I can even find them during the height of pickling season if I happen to walk into the store on a day when they have just restocked the shelves. I simply prefer to buy them ahead of time and have them piling up in the pantry waiting for the cucumber and pepper harvests to begin.
