It will be a struggle . I have a Lace Cap here in NS. We're zone 5b to 6. It's rated as Zone 5-8.

Can you plant it at the side of the house, in a partially sunny area with protection from the wind, or in a protected area? the lacecap doesn't like full hot sun, but does like morning sun and shady afternoons, it also likes moisture and acidic soil. You may have to mulch it in the fall to overwinter it. There is a good hydrangea site that I don't have in front of me at the moment, but try checking out this one. Who knows, sometimes you can be amazed at what you can grow!!

My hydrangea didn't make it through the winter. Sometimes I wish I didn't live in zone 3.

Don't know if my hydrangea died over the winter but it is May 24 and it still looks like dried out branches.

I planted Endless summer last year and forgot to give it winter protection. It is now coming up from the roots. Branches are still bare. Yours might too.

Hydrangeas don't make it here.

I have a hydrangea macrophylla in Thunder Bay,I keep in a cold room all winter, bring it out in March, it's outside now and in full bloom.
