I have just the past couple of years began growing clematis, i Ontario Barrie, Ontario

I had always thought them to be difficult to grow but they seem to be right at home in my garden

At this point of have inherited some, picked up some at end of season sales,
Not really been looking at names

Nor have I much studied the Clematis family
Just been enjoying the gorgeous bloom.
Will take a look at the Clematis Forum

Haven't we all been enjoying to hear and see Prince William and Katherine.

P.E.I. surely turned out to see them and wish them well.

I too have been buying based on colour(not that clematis are very photogenic) and by how long they are in bloom.
I moved last June, so all my plants and shrubs are still babes. I planted an Iceberg climbing rose and this year she is blooming gorgeous white flowers! I planted Niobe clematis with her, in hopes they will intertwine. Unfortunately, I don't think Niobe is too fussy of alot of sun ... her leaves tend to become dry and require removal. She is not in need of nutrients, water or good soil ... because all the other clematis are thriving!
