I too planted a Witch Hazel in May. Mine has filled out some, but mostly just sitting. Maybe it will follow the rule of "first year I creap, second year I leap".

I planted a Witch Hazel two years ago. It has filled out some and looks very healthy. But it has not grown significantly. Also it has not flowered yet. The nursery where I bought it told me that was not unusual. Maybe this year.

Many thanks for responding, you and ThisDay4Him have given me hope. I have worked in bone meal and bought a bag of cow manure and that seems to have helpped, plus lots of water. I also plan in the next week or so to prune back some of the branches that do not have any growth what so ever on them.
And then keep my fingers crossed.
