Is that a white poster board for a background in that great photo? Whatever it is, I'd like to try it.

My Scheherezade is just today pushing through the sheath and looks like 4 buds maybe there too.
Two other sheaths didn't make it---one rotted by itself and the other I opened and it did not survive. Remember the "to open or not to open" thread?...one of the guinea pigs...

Hope mine is somewhere near as gorgeous as yours!

Too bad about losing so many buds on your Scheherazade.I hope the rest come through. I didn't have to open the sheaths on mine but I still do when buds start poking out and we're having rain. I've lost too many buds to rot when rain gets into the sheath. Some folks are good at cutting slits in the bottom of sheaths to let water drain but I'm too klutzy. LOL
