No. It's been amazingly easy. This was a free plant for joining my society. In the summer I kept it outside where it got full sun after 1 or 2 pm. When it got too cold I put it by a southern windown. Since it was at the bottom of the staircase and I'm too lazy to bring it upstairs to the sink, I didn't water it as often and a few weeks later was rewarded with 15 spikes. I think I might rig up a CFL above it next winter to see if I can get more spikes.
