Beautiful, beautiful primary hybrid Jane! My grandiflorus spike is still going - I'm hoping it decides to bud soon. Do you find that yours is a sequential blooming?

Hi Calvin, yes it keeps making new buds. Hopefully this year I won't break them off. I had two spikes last year and lost both. I didn't expect another to start again. The spikes are so thin and wiry.

Are you still trying to train your spike upright? Be sure to post a picture.

I decided to move the plant out of the tank to a warm shady spot..actually I think the new location is a few degrees warmer than where the tank is, so maybe the warmth will initiate budding; who knows! I tried to train the spike, but it came dangerously close to snapping, so I let it be. Bruce was mentioning that the weight of the bud/blooms helps bring the spike down - they are quite wiry and thin, aren't they?
