hello, Sambac, thanks. the tag says "orchidworld 'CH'". i got it at a show last year from someone who had imported it from Taiwan. it has a very strong pleasant scent which, on some days, perfumes the whole room. I had put Keiki-keiki grow on it and the flowers are blooming on one of the rootless keiki-keiki's.

hello, Carol, nice! thanks for letting me know. it is still blooming nicely and the scent is very strong.
Sheila, I kept on asking my son to bring me his camera to take pictures of the cyp but he kept on forgetting. now the flowers are finishing - not very pretty. I have another species which to my surprise has also survived. I am waiting to see if this will spike this summer. it is very exciting to find them coming out of the ground.

Welcome! I'd like to know what the last one is. The one previous is actually not an orchid although some people do call Epiphyllums "Orchid cactus".

hello, ifraser, the last one is cypripedium parviflorum var parviflora ( small yellow lady slipper). the pouch is not fully visible yet in the picture. it is a native orchid here is Ontario, Canada and is hardy to zone 3 (according to google). I know the previous one is not a true orchid but I could not resist including it because the colour is so great and the flower lasts only a few days.
