matted leaves on lawn

This year the snow came so early there were still a lot of leaves on my lawn.

Now the snow has melted and left a lot of wet matted leaves.

The weather calls for rain so I want to know, is it important to rake them off of the lawn immediately or can I wait until some dry weekend day in the near future.

It is clear that no light is getting to some parts of the lawn now.
