Paphiopedilum niveum

A small limestone loving terrestrial from Thailand, Burma, peninsular Malaysia, Borneo and surrounding islands. I got it this spring and it is rewarding me with the first bloom. I added crushed oyster shells to the mix and am growing it cool.

Anything you can't grow :) Good job.

I do the same as far as the oyster shells, but I grow mine intermediate to warm. Sitting on an east patio taking 80-90 degree days currently. Will bring it in this fall. Mine's just starting to develop buds.

Usually 2 blooms per stem for me.
