Encyclia alata majus

Warm grower from Mexico to Costa Rica. I grow it outside and do not protect it from the winter cold. It does not seem to mind. These will get quite large, this is a youngster.

I think I have this plant. Had it for many years, maybe 10. Never flowered. Lost the label long ago but the name rings a bell.

Gorgeous plant Nick. I think the Encyclia is growing on me and beginning to be my favorite orchid.

Very light fragrance. Have to be real close to smell.
