This plant patiently taught me to put the plant on the sunny side of the post that it is attached to. I placed it on the post originally on the inside of the post away from the sun. I knew nothing. The plant struggled for 2 years but did not die. It did grow around the post and finally got to where it was supposed to be. So thick headed me took 2 years to realize that they want to be facing the sun. That was 25 years ago. Moral of the story if you keep trying you will finally come to the answer. Faster than me.

Very cool! Funny, we were at a friends house today for the 4th and he had a Vanda which hadn't flowered since he attached it to a tree. It was too shady. The plant grew taller and taller and finally twisted itself around and above the canopy. Now it flowers.

If you live long enough, even your mistakes can pay off.
