This product comes from a company that is not very eco friendly. While the active ingrediant is Iron there is nothing to tell you what the "inert" ingrediants are and they can be just as bad as 2,4,D or anything else.

I haven't tried it and am leery of the brand name as well. I personally wouldn't touch it though, since my test reports I have over 200 ppm iron in my soil as it is. Assuming it kills grass as well as weeds and you're looking for spot treatment, I'd go with the homemade vinegar treatment if you've got good sun and heat on the area.

It is actually a neat product. The way that it works is Broadleaf weeds are not able to metabolize the high level of iron and they die. Grasses are able to process the iron, although you may see the turf grass turn a very dark green almost black color, the grass will recover and become a nice deep green color. The inert ingredients are mostly waer and carrier for the active ingredient. There are no chemicals in the product

I tried this on the weeds in my lawn several weeks ago, and it seemed to kill almost all of the weeds. Not sure what kind of weeds I have- they look like small clover that spreads out from a central root. Today the clusters of weeds were mostly shriveled and could be raked/pulled up.

But now I have bare spots that I need to reseed or something.

I've used the product. Works about the same or better than my neighbor who uses chemicals. I'd have to hand it to the company for coming up with a great alternative when they already have so many proven products that work very well. Seems they really care about the organic option.
