You need to stop thinking in terms of NPK.

What kind of grass do you have with thatch? How often did you water last year?

Sorry, I should have given that info in my original post. I have mainly KGB. Last year was my first year with organics,so I am still in the learning process. As far as watering, I do not have my irrigation system on a set program. I water on an "as needed" basis and have the zones set up so it will water @ about 1" per watering( each zone is set @ 22 min & each zone goes off 3x per session).

Prior to going organic I used the Scott's program and admittedly over applied in the early going. I used the Scott's program for about 8yrs
