Dorothy, I am so sorry for your husband's condition. Thanks for letting us know about rotenone. I thought it was considered one of the safer insecticides. I think you are right and that we should try to use none at all. I also worry about all the chemicals they put in our food now. I try to use very few boxed foods or mixes because of this.

Dorothy, Sorry about your DH also. I've always hated using poisons and avoid it as much as possible.

I wonder how much most of us are subjected to low level carbon monoxide and don't realize it.

Dorothy, I, too, am very sorry about your husbands condition. Makes me wonder too, about the deisel fumes, my hubby was a truck driver for over 20 years, sleeping right over the fumes, that somehow always ended up in the cab.I read once that theres a possibility it can cause brain cancer, which he has.

Thanks for the kind words, my online gardening friends. We too have stayed away from processed foods and fast foods as much as possible, eating organic beef and chicken and lots of organic veggies from the garden. But toxins can overwhelm a body that would otherwise stay healthy. And although our gasoline no longer has lead in it, someone who commutes 3 hrs a day as my DH does gets exposed to gasoline exhaust before he ever gets to work. Ceresone, so sorry to hear of your husband. Our prayers for you and him.

I'm pretty careful at home and rarely use any chemicals but eat so much processed food, I doubt my efforts would make a dent.
