I'm still planning on using the Roundup (actually, HiYield Killzall is cheaper) this week. Bermuda grass takes nights in the 60's to really start growing. I'm going after the dock that is coming up.

Well, if you don't have dock in your lawn, you are blessed. We've been fighting this stuff here for 9 years! Kill it as I see it. It makes rosettes in the grass and will bloom and spread by seed if not mowed. Has a really long tap root if let establish for a while. Roundup does a good job on this pest.

O.K., your talking about the weed "dock". Gotcha!! Yes, I have this too. My yard was a weed field two years ago. I'm just trying to scrape a lawn out of what exists. Next week I'm going to sod the backyard for the kids. Maybe next year I can sod the front.

I used the killzall about 2 months ago and now my yard has zebra stipes. :) How is yours looking?

Ceresone, picking it for greens would just encourage it to grow more. :O) It has a long fleshy taproot that has to be severed very deep down or dug completely. I have used a shovel to slice through it as deeply down as I could drive the shovel blade and it still came back. I think it may be harder to kill that way than Canadian Thistle or Mullein.
