I'm in CT too, but relatively far from Winsted. Wondering where you got that price, and whether you priced out any other grains there? It could be worth the trip for me.

No I didn't price any other grains. My understanding is that SBM is the the best overall grain for a lawn. But I'm just a newbie to this.

The supplier is Nutrena and its website has a store locator area.

Paul, I also live in CT, but about as far away from Winsted as possible. Still, if you find out anything interesting, let us know. My best source near here is the Norwich Agway, at $16 for both SBM and alfalfa.

Last week I bought SBM from Benedict, Monroe for $16.75. Last year I had purchased Alfalfa from the same place but don't remember the price.
