Lc Beherensiana ( really strange)

When I got this from S.B.O.E.the 3 spikes that were opening looked like this

Then the 4th opened up about 5 days ago and its looking like this

No photoshop,no changing of the color,and I think its going to stay this way.

Could it be from a change in the light level durng the development of the buds?
I have a couple of oncidium types that have really different bloom colors...the first being really bright. I usually bring them in from the slat house to the patio for display when they bloom. The spikes that develop later (on the patio) are much lighter, and almost white, when they bloom a month or two later.

Very elegant form.

I would guess it is either due to a change in light during bud development as Jan mentioned or it is one of those mischeivous devils in which the flowers change color over time.
