I bought a truck load of compost made from chicken litter, saw dust and I think cow manure. I got it in Oklahoma just outside of Tiff City. Has anyone had any experience with this? It looks good, but the man said to mix it with soil. It may be too rich to plant in by itself. The man who delivered it said they have used it in Grove. I have been cautious, but as I look at the big pile, I get the urge to put it everywhere.

Is it finished compost?If it has hot spots,you sure want to just let it sit for a while.It will burn your plants and the sawdust will rob the nitrogen from the soil if it isn't decomposed.It will have moldy looking white places in it.It will be wonderful after it has finished heating and "cooking".It won't take too long after the weather warms up.Posy Pet

They have a big machine that they put it in. The delivery man says it comes out steaming and that the heat kills all the seeds. It is very dark with no white spots. I will just have to be patient and see what it does; it would be wonderful if I could use it as potting soil. I bought too many pots at Lowes. They had them on sale in Joplin.
