If anyone does come to the show stop at the booth that has miniature Conifers and say Hi!

Hilltop was there last year and Myron Royce I think. Last year was the first year so I expect it to be bigger this time. There were LOTS of orchids to look at if anyone is into those.

I checked in here to see if any of you had gone to the show and there seems to be several of you with that same question.
I had decided not to go as the ticket price was too high if it was going to be a lot of lawnmowers, etc, like the show at the E-Plex.
However there were tickets available at church for free admission! I hope to get down there and I'll review it for you if I do.

I made it to the flower show and thought it was a good one. I saw lots of new and unfamiliar plants which was a big plus for me. The lawnmowers were there, too, but the ratio was good.

The display I enjoyed the most was by Oasis landscaping. He had set up a wonderful water garden and had fountains carved from stone. Many just used a natural hole in a rock. The rocks he used had a lot of personality, like he'd just drug them in out of the woods. Some had moss on them. They were out of brochures but I signed a list to be sent one.

Lee, I was also impressed with your minature trees. I'd never seen them before. When you wrote to look for you at the minature tree booth my mind read bonsai. These are prettier than bonsai. Bonsai looks so tortured...

Parking was terrible. The Shrine circus was next door at the mosque. All the close parking was charging $3.00. I parked on a church parking lot on the corner of Walnut and Kimbrough.

Nearly everyone had free tickets, as I did. I had an extra and couldn't give it away. Sure beats $5.75.

I'd recommend you all try to go next year. Just wear your walking shoes....

I missed it. : (
I parked in the parking garage last year and I don't remember having to pay for the parking but it's a bit of a hike to the Expo Center from there, especially for anyone elderly which a lot of gardeners are. Someone should at least do an outdoor display between the parking garage and the the Expo Center to entertain us on the way. That would ease the pain a little. : )
