The spinach and romaine lettuce had just been unloaded at Lowe's today and I bought some. I'll plant it out next week, maybe. Bought beautiful pink cannas "Dawn Pink" at Ozark yesterday. They were very fresh. Looking forward to some of those new coneflower colors (Ozark Nursery) in my beds. Always intrigued by lime anything -- and they will come back again and again. What I saw potted were just dormant plants.

Hoping for an early spring and no more really cold temps or snow!

Everything this time of the year is dormant plants...or just waking up.....if they are not, it isn't safe to put them in the ground, but dormant ones can go in now, which is when I prefer to plant.

Another shipment of perennials came in at Ozark Nursery today, I get to go pot them up tomorrow (and get first pick, lol! Did I say, I work for plants?) Hope there are hostas.

Joplin lawn and garden has mushroom compost; that is what I have my eye on. They are closed on Sunday and Sat it was threatening rain. I never did get my top soil at Ozark because mud is hard to get out of your truck. I am glad we have been getting a little moisture. Dry is good in winter but dry cycles scare me. I bought a camera at the first place we looked, but I took the battery out to charge it and left it at my friend's house. It is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T99.

Hope it's not too far for you to go back and get the battery so you can try it out Helen. I looked up the specs just now and it says it has a panorama sweep mode. You move the camera across while you're taking the picture. That's amazing! That will be fun to use when you take the landscape photos that you wanted. I'm anxious to see how they turn out. I'd be tempted to experiment with that feature and see what it looks like if you sweep around corners like in a small room.
Ok Mosswitch - I'm convinced you work for my credit card company or something cause you're making me want to spend money. ; )

Ha ha I do my best to enable. No hostas today but more echinaceas, lavendar, coreopsis, dianthus, tall phlox, can't remember all I potted up. Everything is coming up, perennials look great! More still to come! Got trays of creeping phlox too.

Sorry about the "just dormant plants." They were beautifully potted, but I have no idea where to plant them in my beds, as nothing is really up now. Just wait!

Do you get to hold the 14 pound cat? Do the cats help like my animals help me around here. When I tried to plant my onion plants I had three dogs and a cat helping.

I also feel better about feeling the bulbs, etc in the store bags now, since you admitted to it. I get quite engrossed in counting.

I got a box of oriental lilies at Sams. I opened the box in the store and looked at the bags inside. I didn't see any blue mold and some had sprouts, so I bought them. It is good I approved of them because I couldn't get them to fit back in the box. The checker tried to fix it and I said that's OK. I feel bulbs because I have seen calla lilies and dahlias in box stores out in the freezing cold in spring like March when I needed a coat. I have reported it to the service desk and they said they hadn't had time to put them up. They think I'm a nut but I wouldn't want to buy dahlias that had frozen. Some people think they failed at plants and they had no chance from the beginning.
