Since you received no answer, I looked for something. I am sure you have already done a search. I saw hops growing as an ornamental on an old hotel in Yosemite Park and that is my only experience with it. There is one reference to it on the Oklahoma forum. Someone wanted rhizomes for butterflies and Someone was asking if they could burn the bed in the spring to remove debris from the previous season. Good luck.

When I lived in St. Louis the last time, I noticed people wanted the spent Anheiser-Busch brewery hops for their compost bin -- I think it makes great compost, eventually.
