At least he was not wearing a black ski mask. A very disappointing experience for me as once a year I shlep up to the big San Francisco Show specifically to see Dr Holger Perner from China, a Japaneses vendor and the ornamental, sorry, Asian vendor I was referring too. The last time I thought his prices were high but after driving for 7 hours I sucked it up and got some of his stuff. Not this coming spring, I may go there but since Perner will mail things to me directly I may well pass on the experience.

I just got a bean neofinitia for 45 bucks from cal orchid, and I'm sure they got it from an asian vendor. that's as high as I personally am willing to spend on an orchid. course i say that now but... anyway, what's the big deal with the good doctor that you'd drive 7 hours exactly?

They sell (with proper documentation) a wide array of orchids from China including many Paphiopedilum and Cypripedium species. This year I may not go there as I'm a little ticked at the Thai vendor and have no further interest in the Japanese stuff. If he remains the only reason to go there, I'll pre-order instead.

As I said, he will import to SF and then ship USPS to your house.
