My columbines are beginning to bloom. I was never really attracted to them, but someone I know really liked the small blue or purple alpine type. I tried them and now I am appreciating them more and more. They reseed, but don't take over. The seedlings come up in unexpected places; the foliage is dainty and attractive. They look delicate but they are pretty carefree.
