Wooden Vanda Boxes

Question? I am having trouble finding vanda boxes made of teak. I am thinking of constructing my own and wonder if cypress wood could be used. I know without checking that teak will be very expensive, and I hope cypress would hold up well and be more moderately priced.. any one have an opinion on this?

I have Vanda baskets made out of cedar. You may want to consider it. Also you would likely get more responses if you posted this question on the Orchid Question and Conversation forum. Gallery is pretty much for ogling pictures
