Some sources indicate this product has a Nitrogen levle that is too high to be derived from totally organic sources, as with anything from Scotts I would be very leary of it.

Its seems like a great alternative to synthetic fertilizers and Im all for it. I mainly use feed grains on my lawn, but occasionally I mix it up with Organic Choice.

The ingredients are as followed (taken directly from the bag)

Derived from: Hydrolyzed Feather Meal, Meat Meal, Bone Meal, Blood Meal, and Sulfate of Potash. *Contains 10% slowly available water insoluble nitrogen(N) from hydrolyzed feather meal and meat meal.

Here the break down.
1. Nitrogen: derived from feather meal, blood meal, meat meal bone meal
2. Phosphorus: derived frm bone meal
3. Potassium: derived from sulfate potash, which is a mined mineral from the Great Salt Lak.

There is nothing hidden, no other ingredients, fillers etc. etc. I think its great that a big primarily chemical company is offering this as an alternative.

Im with skoot cat. Scott's is essentially the same formulation that is in Restore from Ringer and I don't recall anyone being suspicious about that product.

Furthermore the label on any product is a legally binding document. I've known many folks that have developed products for the lawn care market and labeling regs are no joke. If someone has specific reason to doubt the formulation of a product then they should bring it to the attention of their state Ag dept or whomever has jurisdiction. Vauge innuendo doesn't help anyone.

Feather meal is usually around 14% Nitrogen.

It's a good fertilizer with a good granule size to use with spreader.. I have had some good results from it

here this page says feather are 91% protein so, their
analysis of 11% nitrogen should be very close.
