The mowing height depends on the variety of grass. Centipede needs to be mowed low at 1.5 to 2 inches in height. Mowing at this height promotes a deeper, more extensive root system that enables the grass to better withstand drought and nematode stress.

Established centipede lawns have very low fertility requirements. 1 to 3 applications from spring greenup through fall. I would say Alfalfa in spring, SBM Summer and both in fall at 20-30lbs per 1000sqft.

The centipede should eventually take over the bahia. Bahia prefers to be mowed high.
