It might be a good thing that you got there at 8 instead of right before 7:30. The line might have scared you away. I got there around 7:15 and had a LOT of people in front of me.
I didn't see the swamp oak. Those are pretty. They have one at the Master Gardener Display garden and the leaves are kind of shiny if it's what I'm thinking of.
I bought a hellebore too. That's something I already have but love them and got a little one for $3. That and the variegated Solomon's seal are great plants for dry shade - very drought tolerant.
I also got a couple of little rue plants for $1 each, persicaria Firetail, a native columbine, and artemisia 'Valerie Finnis'.
I wonder how many people were there this year. Sure looked like a lot when we were all standing in line.

They forgot to do a head count like they did last year. I'm glad you were able to find some new plants to bring home and than you enjoyed it! So happy the weather was nice this year!

There is a daylily sale coming up somewhere sometime soon by another organization but I'd have to ask when. If anyone is interested post here and I'll try to find out the details.
