Sounds like the GWV (Gardening Withdrawal Virus) is spreading. It is the first of February and I know of a lot of people who want the spring warmth and sun back already.
You do realize we will get hit with a good snow storm in February for this? At least the snow insulates the ground!
I started gardening last weekend (March 16th). Moved a small redbud tree, grown to 6 feet tall from an Arbor Society seedling planted in 2002. I wanted to get it moved before it broke dormancy. Hopefully it will survive.
The weather was beautiful today and I had the day off.... Around 4:30 I finally had a few minutes to work outside and it was great. I think I worked through my gardening withdrawl and am ready for a new season. Now if it just keeps warming up without any major cold snaps, I'll be a happy farmer!
With a bank of grow lights in the basement and plants in bloom all winter its my little get away from reality. But alas some must go if I'm to have enough room for my garden veggies.
