They are tough old birds and will probably do Ok

I have a peony that started poking up a couple eyes, both my sisters had daylilies up several inches and snowdrops blooming, and mom had lots of daffodil foliage up at least 4" - 6", before it all got covered with 16" of snow last weekend. LOL Thankfully almost all of that snow (save for some of the higher mounds created from shoveling) is gone. With Thursday night's temps staying in the mid-50° Fs and then a surge to 60° F Friday morning before the cold air started back in again, we lucked out to de-snow (what a term...lol) the area.

Come on spring!

According to the groundhog, 6 weeks of winter??

I'm shivering over here in Bucks. The forecast is for more single-digit temps this weekend, waaah.

Spring must be coming soon. I dunno how many robins are outside today, they'd have to be counted in hundreds rather than in dozens. at first, it was cute and interesting to see them out front in the bushes and bobbing along all over the lawn, a few of them just inches from the front window. Now it's just creepy..out back, they're flying all over the place, sitting in trees and bushes, on the grass. i keep thinking alfred hitchcock's "The Birds".

I've been seeing huge flocks of starlings going overhead every morning as I walk out to the barn. At least I thought they were starlings, maybe they're robins.

The Canada geese don't seem to be on the wing yet, they're still sticking to their winter haunts. Maybe they know something we don't.
