Miltonia flavescens

We always call this the Foz do IguaÃ§u orchid on account of the large numbers of plants that can be seen near to those spectacular waterfalls. I found a piece that had fallen off the roof of the hotel where we were staying. This is the first time in 4 years that it has flowered. This year has been exceptionally wet. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. It has a slight sort of ice cream scent.

Fantastic display. I think I have passed this one before, just seeing a picture of a flower - and now I am wanting to have it, seeing your beautiful plant!!

I recently saw seedlings of this offered, so this is twice in a month I've encountered this orchid. I love the cloud of flowers. Also, I love the fact that you are growing a piece that fell off of a roof. That is something I could never say about an orchid, at least not any time in the near future.
