Helen,I love that Red Buckeye! I need to find one for my front yard. I hear they are slow growing?

This is the first year my red buckeye has bloomed. Mine doesn't seem as bright red as your photo or other photos I've seen. I was a little disappointed. I wonder if they vary and I just didn't get a very good one. Hopefully the hummingbirds won't care.

Mine took about five years to bloom. It was small to begin with and I transplanted it after it had been in the ground a year, so that may have slowed it down.

Your catmint looks great. I have some in a container also. I put it there to root it and then just left it there because it was doing well. It's very tough.

Beatiful! I've wanted a red buckeye for years and have never gotten around to planting one.

The catmint is gorgeous too. I love it but have heard it attracts cats although not as well as catNIP. I don't want hordes of neighbor cats hanging out in my yard.

My cats ignore catmint and I've never seen one around it even though we have strays in the neighborhood. I brought some stems in for my cat that I keep inside and she just sniffed it and walked away.

That's great to know as I've wanted some of this for years!
