I think I need to build a coldframe! Things are not all that warm here that I feel like the open garden is ready, but if I could get a coldframe together then maybe I can give it a shot. Like you say... what's the worst that can happen!?

I may try presprouting the seed indoors in six packs etc. and then putting them out in the coldframe to grow on. I guess that's not exactly direct sowing is it? ;)

Sounds like a weekend plan!

No coldframe today since it's too windy to tempt me outside to work, but I looked at the weather for next week and I think that's it for winter. I suspect I will have a crocus blooming by the end of the week.

The warm weather Wednesday and Thursday of last week brought all the tulips up and the daffs are all sprouting too. It was cold last night but I don't see anything in the near future that is close to that. We'll be planting seeds and cutting grass before we know it.

I have onion sets in and 3 pckgs of seed scallions in.
Doing peas today in raised bed and maybe lettuce.

Did any of you plant anything yet??

I already have my peas, carrots, cabbage, and lettuce in. Potatoes are in containers. I just got my onions in the mail yesterday, so onions will be going in this afternoon.
