It was an odd winter last year, wasn't it? I was just looking at the calender and saw that last year snowdrops and hellebores were blooming in early January. This year they are still just little nubs barely peeking out of the ground (if that).

That's a good thing since they all died later when winter hit with a vengence. I hope things will go better this spring.

A groundhog came out in SW Chester County to get a little food today. Later, there will be leaf gathering for a nest.

I haven't seen any of my nemesis yet thank goodness. Maybe the den behind my house is still empty since I carted off the last groundhog last summer!

I haven't seen any in my neighborhood either. Dash the wondercat is waiting for his first chipmunk sighting of the season. He's a lean mean chipmunkin' machine.

We saw a few,sleep all winter come ot only to get run over on roads.But my 2 jack russells would love to see them!!!!!!!scarce on our 40 acres...

Chescohog made its first appearance of the season today digging out its entry-way in the woods. I guess it will be next month when the female begins stuffing leaves in her mouth and taking them down in the den.
