I have no idea if they do this, but one place that comes to mind is the East End Food Coop. They have a little cafe and considering their commitment to the environment they might be very willing to give you their veggie scraps. Worth a call at least.

Most of the stables are happy to have someone come by and get the recyclables. I get a lot from a stable near me in the North.

My Name is Sarah and I am the cafe manager at the East End Food Co-op. We do sometimes have people come and ask us for compostables. We are always happy to provide them. It helps if we have notice so that we can have a garbage can just for produce and coffee grounds.If anybody is interested, just call me at 412-242-7726. The produce section also sometimes has a lot of trimmings. I am taking advantage of the resources this year to compost, myself. But there is plenty to go around!

Some Starbucks will just act like they have never heard of the idea of giving coffee grounds and some are great about it. All of the are supposed to give them away. The best big haul is in Monroville where they put it on a box behind the store and I have gotten 100 lbs at a time.

Just persistantly ask for coffee grounds and they will bag them. Tell them you'll be back. Come back. I'll come to and they will have a reason to keep the coffee grounds available.
