I use a product called Repels All on my flower beds. I went and read the information on the bottle and it said not to spray directly on vegetable plants for human consumption but you spray a barrier around the plants on the ground. There is nothing in it to harm animals they are sensitive to the ingredients as it causes a mildsensitivity to their nasal passages. It is environmentally safe and biodegradable.

I second that, Qumum!! Repels All is the best thing around to keep critters out of your garden. I buy it every year at Lowe's for about $14. Haven't lost a tomato to the squirrels since I've been using it.

.22 LR. I give them lead poisoning and serve them for dinner. Squirrels too! I like animals as much as anyone but if they become pests, I get rid of them.

I guess my dogs and cats are protecting me after all. I am rescuing baby rabbits here.

Something bit quite a few leaves off of my hostas and left them laying next to the plants. It looked like someone got too close with the weedeater but we haven't even had ours out this year so it must've been some kind of critter damage.
I have been seeing five or six different cats in the field behind our house. I don't know if they're pets or wild. That should cut down on the bunnies and mice. Hope I don't find kittens under our shed.
Helen - I would rescue the baby bunnies too. I get angry when they eat my plants but gosh they're cut when they're little.

Off topic but - Petland has dwarf long-haired rabbits that are reeeally cute and so tiny. Don't go look at them. ; )

Rabbits chew off hosta leaves and just leave them laying next to the plant. I have 4 revolution hostas next to each other but the rabbit just keeps eating on one, so far.
