Could be African daisy, they come in salmon color and are an annual. Did it have a purple center? If so then it was probably African daisy. I'll post a link to a picture.

That would be my guess too. Did they stay closed on cloudy days? The scientific name is Dimorphoteca, if I remember right. I grew them a number of years ago and loved them. I just sowed them outside directly in the ground.

They are also known as osteospermum and now you can easily get them at garden centers in the spring.

Thanks for the help. That is what I was trying to think of. I now remember the name osteospermum. Thanks. I'll now try to find seeds to order. I think planting them with annual blue lobelia will be very pretty.
