Will be attending a retirement party for my sister in Jopin next week and would like to go on to Grove while I am that close---we will see.

I was there today. Their daylilies have started blooming. I would love to have Ed Brown and the orange ruffled one near it. They also have some beautiful huge hostas. I was glad to see a big specimen of Sun Power. I just bought it this year; I hope mine looks that good some day. The problem is if my hostas get that big, I won't have enough room.

I went to Lendonwood again today. I was in Grove for other reasons, so I just stopped by for a quick look. For those who aren't familiar, the art is not there usually. I was interested in the emerging plants. Hosta Wolverine caught my eye. There were some large fragrant viburnums. The new foliage on the Japanese maples was very attractive especially the green dissected leaf ones. I think I will try some forget me nots in the shade like I saw there. Also there was a blue flowering plant I think lungwort. I saw it at Joplin Greenhouse on 32nd for about $10. I was too cheap to buy it, but it is an unusual and attractive plant. I would like to go again in a week or so when I think more will be blooming.

We haven't been by Lendonwood yet this spring. For those who are visiting and like herb gardens the Sweet Annie's herb club have established a herb garden at the entry to Har-ber Village which is further up the road from Lendonwood. There's also a little cafe there if one wants lunch. A map is included in the link below. EP
