Anything with brassavola in it grows as if it has been here for the last million years. This plant is firmly attached to a post. So it takes all mother nature gives it and keeps on blooming. Fully exposed. I've gotten better at finding plants well adapted to here. Makes the work so much easier. And they allow me to fool a lot of people into thinking I know what to do....I also know the list of plants that will not thrive and make me look bad and feel sad. They have been Darwinized away from here. I still like them but they don't live here. And with so many orchids that like my monoculture there is no need to make it difficult.

They are guarded by Mr. Barretta. An old friend. He has never been called to duty. It is peaceful around here. With sweet and spicy night time aromas!

This little stars is mounted on a live oak in my yard. The roots like the oak bark. Please notice the old plastic bands that hold the orchid in place. I will cut them off soon as the plants are well attached. Please never use wire on your trees. It will kill your tree.

They also like the texture of palmetto trees...When mounting on trees think of what solar exposure you want. You get 360 choices...

Here is my Little Stars, a trade from Shavedmonkey a few months ago.I didn't expect it to bloom until next year but it surprised me.
