Our back porch a few years ago was a raised deck, but is was getting old and starting to rot. Being a container plant lover, it made sense to just tear it down and make use of the concrete pad under it. All the watering of my plants wasn't doing it any good.

Tearing down the deck was not a pleasant experience, but I now have something right up there with it. Very large Crepe Myrtles surrounded the deck to help shade and block some of the wind.

It took 3 hours to get to the fun part on just this one stump. Breaking out the rope and giving it a yank with the truck:-).
