It is in the 40s down here in the city this morning. NWS forecast is suggesting patchy frost tonight in the outlying and rural areas down here (so that might be a hint for where your temps might end up tonight up where you are).

28 here in Butler. Very heavy frost. I think most things will be ok, except maybe the Hostas. They manage to get frost nipped every year.

:o( I lost a bunch of leaves on my figs. I brought them outside a few weeks ago, I keep them in pots in my garage over the winter and plant the whole pots in my garden. I know its generally too early, about a month too early to bring them out, but I wasn't expecting it to go so low last night or I would have covered them. Normally when I put them outside in the spring the leaves are so developed and used to the low light level, that no matter now much I acclimate them in the shade the sun still burns the leaves. Oh well, didn't work out so well this way either.....

Wow, I don't know what to say. I absolutely abhor when I see temps drop below 40. Kind of sucks that we get more months of temps lower than that than we do with growing weather. I guess the further north one lives, the more it sucks when it comes to gardening. Can't wait for the really hot humid days. All 60 days of it.... :(
