Whatever, i agree, one that everyone should have because it is beautiful and easy to grow.

Arthur I didn't see any other way to contact you other then threw this post. But I ask myself why would you go back and look at the photo and look for comments. In any case, no I'm not sure of the name. I know for a fact that the label said Cochleanthes amazonica x Amazing. That is the way my wife wrote it on the first picture. Then I came home and said it must have been a clonal name and then took out the x. The reality of it is that the producer of this plant H&R probable didn't have enough room on the tag so wrote it that way. Now with your input it seems it should be Cochleanthes amazonica x Cochleanthes Amazing. Do you agree?

I have Cochleanthes Amazing, similar colours but not as round and filled in as the flower on your plant.

There is no need to write Cochleanthes amazonica x Cochleanthes Amazing.

The short form Cochleanthes amazonica x Amazing is fine. Those little quotes make a lot of difference.

I too love this orchid and wonder why it's not more popular. My plant should be awash with blooms, but it suffered immensely from neglect and still is blooming for me. I have the C Amazing and it's blooms have the lower half of the lip a solid purple, the inner portion is striped. Nice light fragrance too!
