Never heard of Delco, PA. If you are referring to Delaware County, then try the American Rhododendron Society plant sale at Jenkins arboretum on Saturday & Sunday, May 3-4, 2008, with a pre-sale party where plants will be sold on Friday, May 2.

Yellow azaleas only come in deciduous azaleas, not evergreen. White is normally evergreen but some deciduous are available.

What exactly is the difference between evergreen and deciduous azaleas?

Deciduous azaleas will lose their leaves come cold weather; evergreen azaleas will not.

You can buy and plant azaleas any time. However, they form their buds in the summer so they must have buds form this summer to bloom next spring. If you have deer problems, deer love deciduous azalea flower buds and most all parts of evergreen azaleas. Many people think that fall is the best time to plant new azaleas because there is less moisture stress in the fall and winter. The other problem is frost heave. In any case, make sure you mulch after planting.

Deciduous azaleas are more of a specialty than evergreen azaleas. They have the brighter colors and are much more showy when they are in bloom. Since they are bare in the winter, some people like to combine them with low prostrate evergreens such as creeping junipers.

If you are still looking for yellow azaleas try the link below. They have just about any color you could want at a good price. I have not bought anything from them myself (yet!) but I know they are a well established outfit. Another place you could try is Musser Forests, Inc. in Indiana, PA. not sure if they have the color you want, you would have to contact them. They are mail-order or pick-up.
