Poor little guy. We really treasure our toads in the back yard. One pond has been given over to them. My granddaughters still love to watch the tadpoles...and yes, they gently hold them.

I have a couple of toads in my flowers and am amazed i've not stepped on them. Glad you saved the little bugger.

I have a toad story to add: I was watering my neighbor's pots while she is in the hospital and two large ones jumped out at my feet. Gave me quite a start. They were two different kinds; don't know my frogs so have no idea what they were.

He sure is cute! We have a toad that lives under the dog house in the backyard. He sits on the back steps at night to eat the bugs from the outside light. We named him Herman. We have to be careful when we go outside at night, so we don't step on him.
