Christie, I don't know the first 2. I think some years ago I was involved in quite a discussion about them on the Name That Plant Forum. The 3rd one is May apple, and I am pretty sure the 4th one is Pedicularis canadensis, Lousewort.
I should know what the last one is, but can't think of it now. :-(

The last one is Spigelia marilandica. Also a "woods" plant - likes moist environment. When in bloom, there is no other plant that resembles it. Flowers May-August.

Pomonaflower - I thought that last one looked like something hummingbirds would like so I put in the name you gave me and of course they do. Good to know it has a long bloom period. I think I'll add it to my wish list. I think I offered to send you some plants. Are you still wanting flowers for your new yard or am I thinking of someone else?

Marian - I can try posting those first two photos in the Name That Plant forum. I didn't know if it was something common or unusual so I thought I'd try posting here first. Do you remember if they figured out what they were?
That fourth one is a surprise. I expected it to be some kind of fern.
I thought that last one looked like a may apple but the yellow spots threw me. Maybe it's just starting to die or something.

Every time I stopped to take a picture, the rest of my bunch was 50 yards ahead of me and I had to hurry to catch up which wouldn't be so bad but the path was rocky and I didn't want to be carried out on stretcher. lol I'm sure if I'd had time to wander around, there would've been a lot more mystery plants to me.

Christie, I think they did figure out what they are, but that was a long tome ago...at least 2 years, maybe more. I wish I could remember.....

The first two photos have me "stumped" (so to speak). I really need to see it in bloom. I think it may be in the compostiae (aster) family. I think it may be what I call "cup flower", but that's not what my book calls "cup flower". White and yellow little button daisy flowers in summer in deep shade, often on tallus rock slopes.

I really love that spigelia! Am I paranoid, or do I see poison ivy in the 3rd photo? :)

I think I see poison ivy in all but the last pic ! Not surprising in these parts. I have it in many of my less maintained beds. Our woods are full of it.
