Weeds overtaking garden

Hi,

The weeds in my garden have almost overtaken my garden. I mulched lats fall but still lots of weeds. I have not used a good compost in a while. Was wondering if a good compost or regular muclch would be better. Opinions please.

Weeds around PA seem to come in waves. The first ones are those that sprouted in late Winter. We are currently in Wave 2 - and among these are TREES; pull these now before they become impossible!

Otherwise, get or order fine mulch, lay down a 2" coating and pack it down with your feet. Water it to settle. This should suppress and prevent most weed growth for the remainder of the season, and will also keep the garden soil moist and keep plants from drying out or getting stressed in these mostly dry summers we've been having in the 2000's.
