You have quite a variety. Thanks for the pictures. I will have to give Verbenia b a better spot. Mine seems to get ratty leaves. It might be spider mites. That pink moth is not supposed to be here; I'll bet it came with the salvia. I found some people who think it is eating the flowers off their salvia. D garden the forbidden site has something on it.

You have a lot more than I do here! Like Helen, my v. bonariensis isn't in a good spot and gets fewer each year. I hope I can remember to gather seed and broadcast it in another spot.

My verbena b. is a little too happy. I'll try to remember to take a photo from a distance so you can see how much it's spread. It blooms forever though and comes up thickly enough that I don't have to weed it.
Thanks for the info on the pink moth Helen. This is the first year I've spotted the moth but I think they've been around for at least three or four years if it's the same one that's eating the buds in larval stage. They're tiny. I would'nt mind if they ate just the few leaves but they only like the flower buds and do enough damage to keep the plant from blooming for awhile.

I spotted this huge moth (I think a Polythemus) in my Blackhaw viburnum yesterday, and what I first thought was a dried leaf beneath it, turned out to be another moth.
I can't remember ever seeing one in my yard and never expected to see one in the daytime.

You may have baby moths soon. I think the bugs eating leaves off may be helping conserve water in this heat. My forecast does not promise any relief soon. The moths are beautiful. I have sphinx moths at night on the four o clocks. I like them but I may be killing their offspring with Bt in my tomatoes. I don't spray anything but the tomatoes.

Those are beautiful and it is a great photo.

My sweet cats killed a hummingbird moth yesterday and one of those beautiful big green ones.
