Are they really free? I'm not seeing that. It's like they've built the cost of the item into the "processing" part. For example, I can get purple coneflower for $7.95. I can buy them from the first "for profit" place I looked online for $4.00 per plant. So for 5 cents, I get less choice and no guarantee.

I've ordered from freetreesandplants.com a couple of times. The plants have always come in good shape and they have grown and thrived for me. It is convenient for me to shop with them rather than to go from store to store looking for something I want. They mail things out in the fall and in the spring, so that your purchase will have a better chance to survive.

Freetreesandplants is a workshop in Nebraska for mentally disabled persons. The plants are donated to them and they fill the orders. It's a worthy cause and I applaud these folks for wanting to work instead of sitting at home in front of the TV all day. Having worked with the mentally disabled in a workshop setting before, I can tell you that being able to work and earn spending money means a lot to them in many ways. Their Disability checks are normally used up in paying for their necessities, such as housing, groceries, clothing and transportation.

If your package does not arrive, or if it does not break dormancy then I believe you can get a refund by sending an e-mail. You could certainly ask.
